A safe, secure, and tranquil space for your furry friend to run free!

At Windhover Walkies, we offer something a little different.

Our fully enclosed field is a tranquil space for calm, off-lead exercise and enrichment, set within a peaceful rural landscape. It is ideal for dogs who enjoy quiet exploration, gentle movement, and the freedom to sniff, wander, and decompress at their own pace.

Whether your dog is sensitive, reactive to busy environments, recovering confidence, or simply happiest in calm surroundings, Windhover Walkies provides a safe and unhurried setting where both dogs and owners can truly relax.

To preserve the peaceful nature of the field, we ask that visits remain quiet and low-key. Voices should be kept low, and there are no training sessions, whistles, or shouted commands. This allows us to respect the surrounding countryside and neighbouring properties, while ensuring the field remains a soothing experience for everyone who uses it.

If you are looking for an active training or high-energy play space, this may not be the right field for you. But if you value calm, space, and a more mindful walk with your dog, we would love to welcome you.

Thank you for helping us keep Windhover Walkies a calm, enjoyable place to unwind.

About Us

We’re dog lovers who believe that not every dog thrives in busy, high-energy spaces.

Windhover Walkies was created to offer a safe, secure, and genuinely peaceful environment where dogs and their humans can spend unrushed time together. Set within quiet countryside, our fully enclosed field is designed for dogs to move freely without the stress of roads, crowds, or constant stimulation.

We care deeply about canine wellbeing and understand that many dogs, whether sensitive, reactive, ageing, or simply content with a slower pace, benefit most from calm surroundings. That’s why Windhover Walkies is intentionally low-key: a place for gentle exercise, sniffing, decompression, and quiet exploration rather than training or high-intensity play.

Our aim is to provide a space that feels open and restorative, where dogs can enjoy freedom in their own way and owners can relax, knowing they are in a setting designed with care, respect, and tranquillity in mind.

If you value calm walks, countryside stillness, and quality time with your dog, Windhover Walkies was created for you.

How It Works

Visiting Windhover Walkies is simple and hassle-free!

  1. Book your slot – Click the Book Now button to choose your session and complete payment in advance.

  2. Arriving at the field – When you arrive, pull up to the wooden farm gate just off Southend Road. The gate will open automatically.

  3. Driving in – Please drive slowly up the farm track past the house. You will see the dog field ahead. Drive straight in and close the gate securely behind you before letting your dog out.
For the tranquillity of the setting and consideration of neighbours, only one vehicle is permitted per booking.

  4. Enjoy the field – Once inside, let your dog out and enjoy your session at a calm, unhurried pace. Windhover Walkies is a tranquil space intended for quiet exercise and enrichment.

Please keep voices low at all times. No whistles,        shouted commands, or training sessions.

We ask that all dog poo is picked up and placed          in the bin provided, helping us keep the field                clean and pleasant for everyone.

  1. Leaving the field – When it’s time to go, please put your dog back in your car before opening the gate. Leave the gate wide open and drive back down the track. Once again, the wooden farm gate will open automatically.

That’s it – simple, safe, and stress-free! We can’t wait to welcome you and your pup for a tail-wagging good time.

Where to Find Us

We are located at Thorpe Farm on Southend Road, about 150 metres along from the mini roundabout near The Rose Inn. Keep an eye out for a long hedge, and just by the traffic island, you’ll see a gap in the hedge with a wooden gate and a sign saying Thorpe Farm – that’s us!

For precise directions, our What3Words location is maybe.pouch.tunes

Simply pull in and wait for the electronic gate to open – there’s no need to use the intercom. Drive up the track slowly and be mindful of other visitors. If another vehicle is leaving, please be courteous and allow them to exit safely.

We look forward to welcoming you and your doggos!
